Essential Tips for Internet Marketing Beginners

If you are new to Internet Marketing (or even not so new), you need to know some basic concepts in order to get started, or to push your Internet marketing strategy to the next level. I hope that by now you will have chosen a domain name and set up your blog or website. Obviously, I like the ease and features of blogger.com, though some prefer their own domain. For the latter, I recommend Global Domains International.

Anyway, if you are ready to go, and you want to get started with moving on to the next level, here are some excellent Internet-Marketing tips for beginners and intermediate promoters that can help simplify the process and/or improve your results:

1) Start by Building a List: Everything that you do online should be orientated toward 'list building'. In fact, ask yourself this question before every online business move that you make: 'How is this action helping me grow my list?' There's a famous quote about online business that says, "The money's in the list." That's actually true. Everyone needs a list in the Internet Marketing business. It’s the basic foundation that your success will be partially built upon. You do not want to try to market through your blog or website alone and you certainly do not want to be spamming people with unwanted emails. Therefore, you must build a list. And for that, you will need an autoresponder.

There are many ways you can do that and I will be covering some of that in future posts. The one excellent way to build a list is to offer good, free content - whether it is on your website or in a newsletter. You could also do webinars, create videos and record audio or video interviews. The ‘content’ part might not reap you immediate financial rewards, but it will go a long way in making you more money in the long-term. This is one of the foundational Internet Marketing tips for beginners. So how does my content = list-building? Read on...

2) Create a Fantastic Squeeze Page: To effectively build a list, you need an excellent squeeze or capture page. This tells people what you have to offer them and why they should fork over their name and email to you. You will need to offer them something solid, not junk. Don’t offer people something that is available anywhere they go in the Internet. Make clean and uncluttered squeeze pages whose only goal are to get people to opt-in. Make sure your opt-in box is highly visible and easy for people to use. This is a great way to draw subscribers to your list. TrafficWave (naturally) offers squeeze page templates. Another great product for designing capture pages is adkreator.

3) Stuff your blog or hosted website with great keywords: In order to get targeted web traffic, make sure the keywords you are targeting are not too broad. Do not choose 'Internet Marketing' and hope to rank #1 in Google for that. It will never happen. Choose a tighter focus such as 'Internet Marketing Strategies' or even tighter keywords. Go for long tail keywords – phrases with three or more words – when possible. Using the right keywords can make all the difference in the amount of traffic you bring in and the amount of subscribers that come on board. When you use targeted keywords for your niche, you also help to brand yourself which is another great Internet Marketing tip for beginners that future posts will explain.

Start out simple, keep it simple and put these simple (but effective!) Internet Marketing tips to use, and you will gradually see your website, blog or marketing business grow and expand. Be willing to learn and work hard... and you will soon see results!

Can you brag about your autoresponder?

I brag about mine all the time. In fact, I'm always bragging about my autoresponder. Why? My autoresponder pays me. How about yours? Of course, it pays to use an autoresponder, since email marketing and list-building are so fundamental to Internet Marketing. But that's not what I mean. I mean my autoresponder PAYS me because of it's wonderful affiliate sales program!

You need an autoresponder anyway. So why pay for a simple (and probably expensive) one when you can get 20 times the features for less? In fact, you can try TrafficWave for FREE for a full 30 Days! If you are marketing online, you should be building a list of opt-in subscribers. And in order to communicate with your subscriber list, you will need an autoresponder. This is email marketing 101. So if you need an autoresponder (or even already using one), I would like to suggest TrafficWave.

If you are not using TrafficWave, ask yourself the following question about your autoresponder and you will understand why I recommend TrafficWave: Does Your AutoResponder Pay You?
